Markers are much smaller than monuments. As such, they are less expensive. They contain much less information, and do not afford the designer (usually a loved one) many options for personalizing them. They are also less conspicuous when used in cemeteries – thus making it more difficult for visitors to locate the loved one or friend they seek.
